Annie Shi
2026 Podcaster

Annie Shi ’27 is always looking for new experiences. At Brookline High School, she rows year round on the Charles River, an experience that has taught her a lot about discipline and connected her with amazing people. She is also the founder of Market Minds, a student-led financial literacy organization, where she enjoys learning about economics while recognizing patterns behind it. Annie has always been interested in storytelling and different forms of media. Her interest in photography began when she was younger, and eventually grew into sports photography and videography and senior portraits. She especially enjoys the opportunity these projects give her to meet new people and hear their stories. Her interest in exploring different kinds of storytelling led her to the Brookline Life podcast, where she could move beyond traditional writing and experiment with audio as a way of understanding the people and places around her. Outside of school, Annie loves reading, hiking, crocheting, and exploring new places. She is happiest when she is learning something she did not know before, challenging herself to try something unfamiliar, or spending time with people and getting to know them a little better.
