Simon Dolev

2025 Whipple Writing Fellow

Simon Dolev ’26 began writing to make sense of questions that don’t have easy answers. In a world marked by division and uncertainty, he believes that storytelling, especially speculative fiction, can help us understand who we are, what we value, and what kind of world we hope to shape. As a writer and Arts Managing Editor for The Cypress, Simon has explored the intersection of art, technology, and social change. He has honed his writing skills through the Whipple BHS Story Hour and the BU AIM Creative Writing program, and he is a 2025 GrubStreet YAWP Teen Summer Writing Fellow. At BHS, Simon is active in Model UN, Quiz Bowl, Debate, and Fencing, and he is a committed participant in School Within a School (SWS). He also plays piano and guitar and enjoys songwriting and songleading. Simon is drawn to stories that look beyond the present—not only to speculate about the future, but to ask what kind of future is worth building.
