2025 Whipple Writing Fellow

Avery Sutton-Rath ‘26 loves all aspects of both STEM and the arts. In school, she is a co-president of the Women in STEM club and a rower on the BHS crew team. In her free time she loves to make a quick sketch of anything nearby or practice her newly-developed skill of crocheting knitwear. She loves exploring the outdoors, hiking, biking etc and most recently attended the Mountain School in Vermont in her Junior year where she had the chance to live and work on a farm, feeding and caring for both plants and animals. Avery has loved to write since she was young, starting a small neighborhood newspaper for her street during the pandemic, and has kept a journal since middle school. As a child she was an avid reader and would recreate her favorite fantasy stories through long-winded google documents. Now, she explores many different genres and is excited to further discover creative nonfiction.
